I spotted a young Japanese serow (Capricornis crispus, family Bovidae) on the treacherous cliff beside a waterfall. This one had an unusually white coat except that the four limbs, ears and mane were blackish. I had never seen such a white variant, which looked almost divine all the more because the nearby waterfall has been shrined by local people. I had to put my knapsack down while filming because of the backache after a long shooting. Suddenly the curious wildlife got spooked, snorting repeatedly on the way back to the forest. Mid-April 2012 in Japan.
