Stealing Africa - Why Poverty?

公開日: 2013/01/05
STEALING AFRICA: How much profit is fair?

Rüschlikon is a village in Switzerland with a very low tax rate and very wealthy residents. But it receives more tax revenue than it can use. This is largely thanks to one resident - Ivan Glasenberg, CEO of Glencore, whose copper mines in Zambia are not generating a large bounty tax revenue for the Zambians. Zambia has the 3rd largest copper reserves in the world, but 60% of the population live on less than $1 a day and 80% are unemployed. Based on original research into public documents, the film describes the tax system employed by multinational companies in Africa.

Africa you never see on TV - Poverty in Europe

アップロード日: 2011/09/10
In the Western Media we are bombarded every single day with images of AFRICANS in deplorable situations.
FLASH NEWS!!! Poverty is found in all Nations but the MEDIA has maliciously attributed poverty ONLY to AFRICA!!

Inventions of the American Mind regarding the global world. For most Americans the mention of Africa immediately conjures up images of ferocious animals, strangely dressed "tribesmen" and impenetrable jungles.

... Meanwhile the WEST (big corporate industries) gets rich of African Natural Resources they turn around and say Africa is poor!!!!

GO FIGURE!!!

I call it the AFRO-INFO REVOLUTION!!!!

Education Education - Why Poverty?

EDUCATION EDUCATION: What does an education get you?

In ancient times in China, education was the only way out of poverty -- in recent times it has been the best way. China's economic boom and talk of the merits of hard work have created an expectation that to study is to escape poverty. But these days China's higher education system only leads to jobs for a few, educating a new generation to unemployment and despair.

BBC HARDtalk - On the Road : Equatorial Guinea (17/12/12)

公開日: 2012/12/17
HARDtalk on the Road has journeyed to the tiny, oil rich West African nation of Equatorial Guinea for an exclusive look inside one of Africa's most controversial regimes. For the past 33 years the country has been ruled by President Teodoro Obiang; his critics accuse him of systematic corruption and repression, he describes himself as a champion of African development. Thanks to an oil and gas bonanza Equatorial Guinea should be, per capita, one of the wealthiest nations on earth. In fact most of the population lives on little more than a dollar a day. Why? Stephen Sackur and HARDtalk go on the Road in Equatorial Guinea.

Poor Whites - South Africa

アップロード日: 2007/08/16
June 2006
Since the end of apartheid, thousands of white South Africans have been forced into poverty. They blame the government's positive discrimination policies, which favour black employees.

Twelve years ago, Afrikaners like Betsie Dreyer lived a privileged and cocooned life. Now, many are dependent on charity handouts. "We are fighting all the time to survive." The government is determined to see the workforce appropriately reflect the population. It gives black people priority in employment, sets 'black quotas' for businesses and favours companies owned by black people. But critics accuse the government of neglecting its responsibility to white citizens. As union rep Kallie Kriel states: "It's ironic that a government that fought racial laws is now doing exactly the same thing."
