The day of "The Storm" which made headlines worldwide. However this was later in the morning after the actual storm had passed over. However the winds were still fairly gusty and were other storms in the area, as seen in the background in this video, causing some nice wobbly approaches and some rather firm touch downs!
The storm hit London during the early hours of the morning, at its worst between 5-7am where winds were over 70mph and with heavy rain, made it very difficult flying conditions. Approx. 130 flights were cancelled, most of which during the early morning. The Singapore A380, Thai 747 & Air Canada (Star Alliance) A330 featured in this video had diverted to Manchester earlier in the day and they were seen here returning to Heathrow. As the day progressed the strong winds did die down. At the time of filming the wind was gusting up to 35mph, so still enough to create a very nice crosswind!

The last bit of the video is timelapsed of the approach onto RWY27L, its 8x normal speed and was condensed from 18 minutes of footage.
